YCN... Manchester fashion week

Sinead mentioned her link to Manchester fashion week and the chance to incorporate it within our brief.

I couldn't find a lot of information on this event as I think it's relatively new. However I did find their images and some imagery and a video concerning Manchester and fashion in general.

Lola&Grace have posted a link on their Facebook page talking about an artist that they really like and think reflects their spring line. Me and Baljeet have agreed that his art would work well with Lola&Graces jewellery. We would incorporate this with our packaging, but we would have to ask permission and probably pay a commission. Instead we are going to take influence from it by water colouring our patterns that we have previously designed.

YCN... Lola&Grace store launch

The first Lola&Grace store was launched yesterday, here are the photographs of the store that have been posted on their Facebook page. This has given us a much better idea of what the branding looks like and gives us a lot more to work from.

Today I got some books out of the library to look at  some packaging designs that may be relevant to the Lola&Grace packaging an gift wrap that me and Baljeet are designing.

Lola&Grace opening

Lola&Grace have set up an event on Facebook advertising the opening of their first store. This is great as me and Baljeet were starting to worry about the lack of imagery we had of the brand and jewellery to influence and back up our promotional material.

I have also found some pictures of the jewellery range, which of course is going to make it easier when trying to promote and package the pieces.

They have also launched the full version of their website that shows the full range of jewellery that they stock.

Book works

I have looked for some pictures of butterflies to influence some illustrations for mine and Francesca's book for the fair.

I have also looked at Si Scotts illustrations, as I love his style and think that it would suit the tone of our book.

I have also looked at Jennie Webber's work to take influence from.
